Sami Çoksan Ph.D. Social Psychologist
This is Sami! This is a space where I share my work, thoughts and inspirations, half professionally and half personally.

About
I am currently working as a postdoctoral associate at Western University, Network for Economic and Social Trends, ON, Canada. I also teach Statistics for MRPE at the same university and Theory of Psychology for King’s University College, Department of Psychology, ON, Canada.
I started my academic journey with discussions with my friends during my undergraduate years. Therefore, most of my intellectual knowledge -or at least the momentum-, comes from these persistent discussions. I have gained many skills thanks to such persistent colleagues throughout my academic life.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of conducting research on topics such as intergroup contact, harmony and collective punishment. These studies aimed not only to deepen our understanding of community psychology, but also to shape policies that support inclusivity and empathy. Beyond the academic world, I am an advocate of open science and accessible education. I work to develop innovative teaching methods that make complex psychological concepts more understandable and engaging for students from different backgrounds.
Apart from research or teaching, I can say that exploring nature is my main passion. I am currently exploring the seemingly paradise nature of Canada. Apart from that, I am a die-hard video game fan. Unfortunately, I am a good coop buddy, although I play like a potato in some games. Please have fun when you explore here
